TERMS & CONDITIONS

Booking and PAYMENT

To confirm your reservation, a 30% deposit of the total rate is required. Once we receive your deposit, we will secure your booking. Watersports Training & Ocean Ad-Ventures guarantees that your booking will not be canceled due to insufficient participants or necessary yacht repairs. In the rare case that the yacht you originally booked is unavailable, we will provide an equivalent replacement catamaran.

The remaining 70% of the total cost is due two months prior to departure. Failure to complete the payment may result in the cancellation of your booking by Ocean Ad-Ventures LTD. Payments can be made via bank transfer, with all related bank fees being the responsibility of the payer. Please note, credit card payments will incur a 3% surcharge.

CANCELLATION & REFUND

The following cancellation fees apply to all trips:

• From the moment of booking confirmation, a 10% administration fee of the total cruise price is charged.
• For cancellations up to 120 days before the cruise starts: 30% of the total cruise price is due.
• For cancellations between 119 and 46 days before the cruise starts: 50% of the total cruise price is due.
• For cancellations within 45 days of the cruise start date: 100% of the total cruise price is due.

If Ocean Ad-Ventures and Watersports Training must cancel a trip for any reason and no alternative trip is available, clients will receive a full refund.

Crew and Meals

Your crew will include a qualified captain and a chef. The captain is available for kite assistance, sailing instruction, and lessons upon request. The chef will prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as take care of cleaning the boat. If needed, a third crew member may join the team. Please note that meals and drinks consumed at restaurants or bars during the trip are not included.

Dietary requests can be made in advance, though the chef cannot accommodate individual meals. For special diets or allergies, we can recommend snacks or ingredients to bring, as certain products, like gluten-free items, are not widely available in the Caribbean. Alcohol is not provided on board, but guests are welcome to bring their own or purchase it at several stops along the way.

Riding Level and Lessons

We assume all guests are autonomous riders unless otherwise stipulated: able to stay up wind, recuperate their own board, launch and land their kite and body drag up wind. The captain may judge this not to be the case, if so, lessons are compulsory until riding up wind.

If not yet autonomous or if you want to learn to kite lessons could be booked with local schools or with our qualified instructors. Please let us know beforehand if you (might) require lessons. During lessons kite, board, and harness are provided. A safety boat will be provided. If lessons are booked during the trip they can be paid for in cash at the start of the trip or before the start of the lessons.

Rental

Rental is available for autonomous riders. We provide Duotone Kites, Wings and boards.  Harnesses are not included, please do not forget to pack your own!

Rental is subject to availability and therefore we strongly recommend to pre-book your rental package if needed. If rental is booked during the trip, payment is in cash at the start of the trip or before using the gear. Prices are different when booking and paying ahead. Damages or loss of the equipment is the responsibility of the person renting. Costs for repair or replacement need to be covered before leaving the boat in cash.

INSURANCE (equipment rental)

Insurance when renting gear is not included and is not compulsory. It can be purchased for Europeans with the VDWS (https://cp.vdws.de/safetytool) or with the IKO (https://www.ikointl.com/kiter-membership).

Wifi

Wifi is provided at a max. of 500 mb per day for the group. It is sufficient for checking emails and social media, but will not be sufficient for e.g. streaming videos or uploading photo’s. Please ask the captain to help you buy a local data plan or use the wifi provided at several cafes and restaurants if needed.

INSURANCE (Travel)

All guests are required to have travel insurance which covers kitesurfing, wingfoiling, snorkelling and sailing. We explicitly point out the necessity of purchasing a suitable travel insurance, in particular travel cancellation insurance and/or insurance to cover costs in the event of accident or sickness, luggage insurance and international health insurance. The customer is responsible for checking the necessity and the suitability of one of the above or other insurances.

HEALTH condition

By registering for a sailing and kitesurf/wingfoil trip, the participant immediately declares that his/her physical and mental state of health allows him/her to participate in a sailing trip and that he/she is able to swim in deep water for at least 30 minutes. In case of any doubts concerning the fulfilment of these conditions, the participant is obliged to contact the service provider in this matter prior to registration.

In the event of a serious injury or persistent breach of order during the sailing trip by a participant, which threatens the interests or safety principles, the skipper may prohibit the participant from continuing the trip without the participant being compensated for this exclusion or receiving a refund for the unused services. In such a case, all costs of the further stay abroad and the return home shall be paid by the participant.

IMPORTANT NOTES

All guests are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate visas for their trip. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.

It is also the guest’s sole responsibility to arrive on time at the designated meeting point on the first day of the cruise. Unfortunately, we cannot delay the departure due to any missed or delayed flights for guests booked on a Cabin Charter Cruise.
