DISCOVER UNFORGETTABLE CRUISING DESTINATIONS WORLDWIDE
The Grenadines are one of the Caribbean’s most spectacular wingfoiling destinations. Warm, crystal-clear water, steady trade winds and a diverse collection of islands create exceptional conditions for exploring the region by wingfoil and catamaran.
Our cruises depart from Martinique, Saint Lucia or Saint Vincent, with other departure arrangements available on selected trips. Each journey leads into the heart of the Grenadines and towards some of the region’s most memorable wingfoiling locations.
With extensive local experience, our crew selects the best location each day according to the wind, sea conditions and riding level of the group. Between sessions, you can explore remote islands, swim with turtles and experience the Caribbean far away from crowded resorts.
The Grenadines offer an exceptional combination of steady trade winds, warm water and varied wingfoiling conditions. Riders can explore protected lagoons, open-water passages and long downwind routes between islands, with the catamaran providing access to remote locations that cannot be reached from shore.
The spots are suitable for a wide range of riding levels. You do not need to be consistently foiling, but you should be able to control your wing and board, sail independently upwind and return to the catamaran.
Daily locations are selected according to the wind, sea conditions and experience of the group, allowing developing riders and experienced foilers to enjoy the Grenadines in different ways.
Union Island is an ideal base for exploring the Grenadines by wingfoil. Clifton’s protected waters, steady trade winds and easy access from the catamaran create excellent conditions for both developing riders and experienced foilers.
The DUOTONE Pro Center has helped establish Union Island as one of the Caribbean’s best-known watersports destinations. From the yacht, riders can enter directly into deep water, avoiding the difficulty of carrying a foil and its long mast across a beach or through a shallow lagoon.
The main riding area lies just off Clifton and directly opposite the colourful Happy Island. Depending on your level, you can practise on a larger beginner board, work on your first controlled foil rides or enjoy longer freeride sessions across the bay.
After the session, Happy Island is the perfect place to meet for a rum punch and watch the sun set over the Caribbean.
Frigate Bay on Union Island is often one of the first wingfoiling locations we visit during the cruise. Its steady trade winds, spacious riding area and protected water make it an excellent place to settle into the rhythm of the trip.
The bay offers plenty of room for practising transitions, improving foil control or simply enjoying relaxed freeride sessions. Less experienced riders can use larger, more stable boards, while confident foilers can explore farther across the bay or begin longer runs along the coast.
With easy access from the catamaran and no crowded beach launch, Frigate provides a comfortable introduction to wingfoiling in the Grenadines.
Morpion Island is a tiny, picture-perfect sandbank surrounded by brilliant turquoise water. Its remote setting and uninterrupted trade winds make it one of the most memorable wingfoiling locations in the Grenadines.
Because the lagoon contains shallow coral reefs, we prepare the equipment beside the catamaran and enter the water in a suitable, deeper area. Confident riders can then explore the open water beyond the reef, where there is more space for freeriding and longer foil runs.
After the session, we can continue to nearby Petit St. Vincent for a sunset drink—the perfect ending to a day on the water.
The Tobago Cays are one of the most spectacular stops on our Wingfoil Cruise through the Grenadines. This protected marine park combines uninhabited islands, brilliant turquoise lagoons, steady trade winds and white sandy beaches in an extraordinary natural setting.
The surrounding reefs shelter large areas of relatively flat water, creating excellent conditions for relaxed freeriding and improving foil control. Equipment can be prepared beside the catamaran, allowing riders to enter directly into suitable water without carrying a foil through the shallows.
Away from the wingfoil sessions, the Tobago Cays offer exceptional snorkeling and swimming. The reefs are home to colourful marine life, rays and the sea turtles frequently seen moving through the lagoon.
Wingfoiling here is about much more than time on the board—it is the experience of riding among remote Caribbean islands in one of the region’s most remarkable anchorages.
Mayreau combines memorable wingfoiling with the relaxed atmosphere of a small Caribbean island. Salt Whistle Bay, framed by palm trees and a sweeping white sandy beach, is widely considered one of the most beautiful anchorages in the Grenadines.
The island’s windward side offers steady trade winds and side-onshore conditions, creating an inviting playground for freeriding and longer foil runs. Depending on the conditions, riders can practise close to the yacht or explore more of the coastline.
Away from the water, Mayreau offers an authentic glimpse of Caribbean island life. Guests can walk through the local village, follow scenic trails, snorkel, dive or simply relax on the beach and enjoy the island’s welcoming, unhurried character.
Our wingfoil cruises to the Grenadines can depart from three different islands: Martinique, St. Lucia or St. Vincent. Each departure point has its own advantages depending on how much time you have available and how you prefer to travel. Below you can find a short overview to help you choose the option that suits you best.
Because Martinique is located further north, the journey to the Grenadines takes about 20 hours of sailing time before arriving in the Grenadines. It is a great option if you love the idea of combining sailing Kitesurfing and Wingfoiling in one vacation.
Another advantage is that Martinique is very easy to reach, especially from Europe. There are regular direct flights from several major European cities, making travel logistics simple and reliable.
Advantages
Direct flights from Europe
More islands and sailing routes included
Considerations
Longer trip required (10 days recommended)
Longer sailing distance at the beginning and end
Departing from St. Lucia is a great option if you prefer a shorter trip of about one week.
St. Lucia is closer to the Grenadines than Martinique, which means we can reach the main kite and wingfoil spots more quickly. Sailing time is about 12 hours. This allows us to maximize the time spent on the water during a 7-day trip.
St. Lucia is also relatively easy to reach internationally, with flights from Europe, the United States, and other Caribbean islands.
Advantages
Starting the trip from St. Vincent puts us right on the doorstep of the Grenadines. From here, the best kite and wingfoil spots are only a 6 hour sail away.
This option allows us to spend almost the entire trip inside the Grenadines, with very little transit sailing. It’s the fastest way to reach iconic locations such as Union Island, Mayreau, and the Tobago Cays.
However, St. Vincent is a bit more remote and flights can be less frequent, often requiring a connection through Barbados, St. Lucia, or another Caribbean hub.
Advantages
Fastest access to the Grenadines
Maximum time on the water
Ideal if you want to focus mainly on kiting or wingfoiling
Considerations
Flights to St. Vincent may require an additional connection
Slightly more complex travel logistics

There are no direct international flights to Union Island. Therefore, most guests fly into larger Caribbean hubs such as St. Vincent, Barbados, or Grenada, and then continue on a short domestic flight.
Alternatively, we can arrange a pick-up with our catamaran from one of the better-connected islands. This option transforms your arrival into the beginning of a true sailing adventure.
Here’s an overview of arrival options and approximate sailing times to the Grenadines:
– Martinique (FDF): via Paris
– Saint Lucia (SLU/UVF)
– Saint Vincent (SVD)
– Grenada (GND)
– Union Island (UNI) or Carriacou (CRU) direct access—your trip starts right after landing
Please get in touch with us to discuss your travel plans and any pick-up arrangements.
When your first wingfoil session happens depends on your starting point.
– Martinique: about 20 hours of sailing – you’ll be foiling two days after getting on board.
– Saint Lucia: 12 hours of sailing – your first session will likely be the next afternoon.
– Saint Vincent: 6 hours of sailing – you’ll hit the water the following morning.
– Grenada: same as above – about 6 hours of sailing and foiling the next morning.
– Union Island (Grenadines): step off the plane and you’re already there.

Our Wingfoil Cruise in the Grenadines is suitable for a wide range of riders, from beginners taking their first independent rides to experienced wingfoilers looking for long sessions and island-to-island downwinders.
Unlike our kitesurfing cruises, there is no specific minimum foiling level required. You do not need to be flying consistently on the foil, performing manoeuvres or using a small, advanced board. Beginners using larger, more stable boards are equally welcome.
The main requirement is that you can move around independently with your wing and board. You should be able to sail upwind sufficiently to stay close to the riding area and return to the catamaran without continuous assistance. It is perfectly acceptable to do this on a beginner board without foiling.
Easy access directly from the catamaran
One of the biggest advantages of a wingfoil cruise is the ability to start directly from the boat. There is no need to carry a foil setup across a beach or struggle with the long foil mast in shallow water.
The board and foil can be prepared beside the catamaran and placed directly into deep water. This makes getting on and off the water considerably easier and more comfortable, especially for less experienced riders.
Conditions for different riding levels
The Grenadines offer warm water, steady trade winds and a variety of accessible wingfoiling locations. Depending on the conditions and experience of the group, sessions can include:
Easy cruising on a large beginner board
First controlled foil rides
Flat-water freeriding
Longer open-water sessions
Island-to-island downwinders for experienced riders
Our crew selects the most suitable location according to the daily wind and sea conditions. This allows less experienced riders to enjoy accessible spots while advanced riders can make the most of the region’s open-water routes and downwind opportunities.
Not sure whether you are ready?
If you can control your wing, sail independently and make your way back upwind to the catamaran, you are generally ready to join the cruise—even if you are not yet consistently foiling.
Complete beginners who have never handled a wing and board should contact us before booking so that we can discuss suitable instruction or coaching options.
The short answer: bring less than half of what you’d take on a regular beach holiday. Essentials include good sunscreen, a hat, and ideally a Lycra shirt for sun protection during the day.
You’ll only need a few items of clothing—some boardshorts or bikinis, T-shirts, and flip-flops. For the evenings, a light jumper or windbreaker is useful.
If possible, bring eco-friendly shampoo and soap, as everything ends up in the ocean. A refillable water bottle is highly recommended. And please pack using soft, collapsible bags for easy storage on board. Most importantly. Don’t forget your passport.
Wind Conditions:
During our travel period, you can expect steady trade winds around 15–25 knots, usually side-onshore or offshore – perfect for cruisy sessions and downwinders between the islands.
Recommended Wing Sizes by Body Weight:
– 50–65 kg (110–145 lbs): 3.5 m – 4.5 m
– 65–85 kg (145–185 lbs): 4.5 m – 5.5 m
– 85+ kg (185+ lbs): 5.5 m – 6.5 m
Boards & Foils:
– Board: Mid-volume (80–110 L) for stable starts and easy handling
– Foil: Mid-aspect, all-round foils around 1200–1600 cm² work great in light wind
– Optional: A smaller front wing or shorter mast if you want to mix it up
Other Essentials:
– Rash guard or shorty wetsuit: The water is warm, but the sun is strong
– wing leash: Must-haves for open water sessions
– Helmet & impact vest (optional): Great for chop or progression
– Softboard bag or daypack: For easier storage on the boat
