What to know about ...

... Life on board?

Yes, all our Yachts offer free WIFI for our guest. The coverage and speed is good enough to receive emails and WhatsApp at all times, but not always good enough to have extended zoom calls or to stream movies.

Web browsing and downloading is better done when on land in one of the local bars. If you need your own local sim card with a data plan please ask the captain for details or get an e-sim.

There will be maximum 8 guests plus 2-3 crew.

The crew consists of a qualified captain and chef. The captain is available for kite assistance, sailing instruction and lessons on request. The chef is available to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner and to clean the boat. A third crew member might be added to the team, if required, for example a kitesurf instructor.

Yes! We do provide some sets of snorkeling gear which you can use to swim with the turtles and discover the beautiful underwater world. For days without wind there is also a Stand up Paddle board to pump up and use. Just check with the crew.

One set of bedding and bath towels are provided. You may want to bring an additional beach towel.

ELECTRICITY: Your cabin is fitted with an European electrical plug for charging phones/cameras/computers. There is also an USB port. We do have some European/US adaptors if required.

WATER: We produce our own (drinking) water from salt water.

Take into account that a boat is short on water and electricity. The more we use it, the more we will have to run the engine to produce more.

The boat’s chef will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner on board. The menu is varied and dependent on availability of local products. If you are big on snacks, we suggest to stock some of your own favorite bites in your cabin 😉 Water, ice tea and basic soft drinks are included. Alcoholic drinks are not included. You can bring your own drinks or ask us for possibilities to provide some in the board bar for you.

If you have special dietary requests, please let us know in advance of your trip. The chef can modify dishes to cater for allergies, however, special, individual meals cannot be prepared on a regular basis. If you are gluten/lactose intolerant please consider bringing some of your own ingredients, as special products are not available in the Caribbean.

If you want to eat ashore, there are several options. The captain will have recommendations for you. There is also a highly recommended optional lobster dinner one evening in the Tobago Cays marine park. All meals and drinks taken at restaurants or bars are not included.

What else to think about?

Local currency is East Caribbean Dollar (EC) (1 EUR = 3 EC: 1 USD = 2,7 EC). However USD are accepted nearly everywhere. If you need cash for rental, lessons, alcohol, souvenirs etc. we strongly recommend using the ATM at the airport or departure port as the Grenadines ATM is unreliable.

This depends on which extras you want. With the full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and the softdrinks included, costs on the boat are basically none. If you like to go for a drink in a rasta bar, go for the famous lobster dinner in the Tobago Keys, buy souvenirs, extras on the boat or the tip for the crew, it is recommended to bring some cash.

VISA: All guests are responsible to organize appropriate visas if needed. Most of the countries do not need a visa to enter for the time on board, please double check in your case.

PASSPORTS must be valid for at least 6 months from the start of the travel. You will need to have your passport at hand for the skipper in the moment you get on board. This is mandatory to be able to enter the different countries.

All guests are required to have travel insurance which covers kitesurfing, wingfoiling, snorkeling and sailing. We explicitly point out the necessity of purchasing a suitable travel insurance, in particular travel cancellation insurance and/or insurance to cover costs in the event of accident or sickness, luggage insurance and international health insurance. The customer is responsible for checking the necessity and the suitability of one of the above or other insurances.

... Kiting and Winging?

Yes. If you want to travel light and try out the latest gear from DUOTONE Kiteboarding/Wingfoiling, we offer a very attractive rental package at 450 EUR/week or 600 EUR/10 days booking ahead. Deciding on board to rent gear will be an local on top charge. Rental includes kites, a bar and boards. Please do not forget to pack your own harness!

Renting is for confident kiters only (going upwind in all conditions and being ablet to recover the board).

Yes. The equipment will be tied to the deck of the boat in your board bag.

KITING: The minimum kite riding level is going upwind in all conditions and recover your board yourself without a problem.

Please note that beginner lessons are compulsory for any guests who cannot confidently stay upwind or recover their board.

WINGING: The minimum level is to go upwind and manage to come back to the boat yourself.

Of course you can also join the cruise without being a kiter or winger and enjoy the beautiful Caribbean to it´s best.

KITE: Most frequently used kite sizes are 12-15 for guys, 10-12 for girls. Rash vests and booties are recommended. Don´t forget to bring your harness.

WING: The most used sizes are 4-6.

Usually we have consistent trade winds between 14-20 knots from November to July.

Yes. In general, we assume our guests are competent upwind riders. Unless you have requested lessons (only available on private charters). At each new kite spot the captain will brief everyone and point out any obstacles to watch out for. If you need assistance at any time the captain is at hand with the safety boat. There are two rescues included, as rescues (especially “taxi rides”) are extra time for the crew.

Please note that beginner lessons are compulsory for any guest who cannot confidently stay upwind or recover their board.

The trip is designed for confident upwind riders, offering an ideal setup for experienced kitesurfers and wingfoilers. Kitesurf beginner lessons are available only on private charters and need to be discussed and organized before the trip. Beginner lessons are not available on cabin charters. However, if you’re an upwind rider, you can enjoy personalized coaching and progress with our expert instructors on your favorite tricks.

To learn wingfoiling is easier to organize. Please contact us for further information regarding any lessons.

Insurance when renting gear is not included and is not compulsory, but recommended. It can be purchased for Europeans with the VDWS (https://cp.vdws.de/safetytool) or with the IKO for further nations (https://www.ikointl.com/kiter-membership).

If you damage equipment, the damaged will need to be paid on the boat. Afterwards you will get the money back from your equipment insurance.

If you damage any equipment, the cost will need to be settled on the boat. You can then claim reimbursement from your equipment insurance after the trip.

By registering for a sailing and Kitesurf/Wingfoil trip, the participant immediately declares that his/her physical and mental state of health allows him/her to participate in a sailing trip and that he/she is able to swim in deep water for at least 30 minutes. In case of any doubts concerning the fulfilment of these conditions, please contact us in this matter prior to registration.

... the Cruise?

The trip includes accommodation on a modern catamaran, three meals per day prepared by a chef, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and the use of water sports equipment like paddleboards and snorkel gear. The package also includes a kite guide, safety supervision, and the first two rescue services as well as all yacht related costs.

Flights, airport transfers and alcoholic beverages are not included.

A day starts with a morning swim and breakfast, followed by a kitesurfing or wingfoiling session or island exploration. In the afternoon, the boat sails to a new location, offering more kitesurfing or free time. Evenings are spent with a sundowner on deck and dinner, either on the boat or at a local restaurant.

The number of spots depends a little bit on the skills and the length of the cruise. Most of the time we visit 5-6 different spots.

The short answer would be – less than half of what you bring on a normal beach holiday. What you need is good sunscreen, ideally a hat and a Lycra shirt to protect you from the sun. You need a couple of Boardshorts / Bikinis, T-Shirts and FlipFlops. A windbreaker or a jumper for the evenings is a good idea. If you can, bring natural shampoo and soap, as it will all go into the ocean right away. A bottle to refill with drinking water is recommended. Please pack in soft, collapsible bags to allow easy storage. And don´t forget your passport.

What to know about Booking Terms?

This payment can be done by bank transfer or credit card (+3% credit card fee). After that, we will confirm your booking and block a cabin for you. 8 weeks before departure the final payment is due and our shore Crew will be in contact with you to help preparing the details of the trip.

30% of the total charter fee has to be paid by bank transfer or credit card at the time of booking. The remaining 70% are due 8 weeks prior to departure. We except payments in Euro, US$ and Digital Currencies.

Deposits will be refunded for cancellations made by clients up to 3 months before departure date. A 10% admin charge (of total rate) will be deducted. For Cancellations made between 3 months before to departure until 6 weeks before departure, we will refund 50% of the price paid. For all other cancellations, 100% of the charter fee is due.

Should a trip be cancelled for any reason by Ocean Ad-Ventures and no alternative trip is available, clients will receive a full refund.

Yes, of course! As a single traveler you have two options. Either you can book a single Cabin, with an extra fee of 60-70% on top of the normal charter fee for the double cabin. The other option is to share the Cabin with another individual traveler. This sounds challenging – we know – but in reality, never ever has been a problem. Give us a ring if you´re in doubt 🙂

Yes. There is no need to be a kitesurfer or wingfoiler to enjoy the cruise to its best. Watch the others being on the water, snorkel with turtles, enjoy the turquoise water around the boat, walk along lonely beaches, go for a hike, enjoy the sun and the local culture and relax totally.
