December marks the beginning of the main Caribbean cruise season. Trade-wind patterns generally become more established, while January and February often provide favourable opportunities across the Eastern Caribbean. March and April: Established Trade-Wind Months
March and April remain important months for Caribbean kite cruises. The water is warm and several Ocean Ad-Ventures destinations are in season. Exact wind strength, direction and sea state still vary by island and from week to week.
May and June: Later-Season Cruising
Selected destinations may continue to offer riding opportunities into May and June. These months can be quieter, but conditions may become less predictable as the Caribbean moves towards summer. Cruise availability depends on the destination and yearly schedule.
July to November: Outside Our Main Caribbean Season
This period falls outside our principal Caribbean kite-cruise programme. Tropical weather becomes more relevant and wind patterns can be less predictable. Ocean Ad-Ventures generally focuses on Mediterranean itineraries during a significant part of this period.
When to Go for Established Trade Winds
Guests who prioritise wind often choose dates within the principal winter trade-wind season. Riders who also value quieter anchorages and a more relaxed atmosphere may prefer later scheduled departures.
Stronger wind does not automatically produce the better cruise. Sea state, wind direction, anchorage protection, sailing distances and safe access to the water all influence the daily plan. The best period is therefore the one that fits your destination, ability and preferred balance between riding, sailing and exploring.

Christmas, New Year and the principal winter travel weeks often fill first. For scheduled cabin charters, booking several months ahead usually provides the best choice of dates and cabin options. Private charters require additional planning, particularly for larger groups or fixed holiday periods.
