The Exumas are one of the most extraordinary kitesurfing destinations in the Caribbean. Spread across more than 365 cays and islands, this remote region combines vast turquoise lagoons, shallow sandbanks, uncrowded flat-water spots and spectacular downwinders between the islands.
Many of the best riding locations are completely inaccessible from land and can only be reached by yacht. Our Exumas Kitesurf Cruise takes you directly to these remote spots, adapting the itinerary to the wind and weather conditions each day. With moderate trade winds, endless space and water colours that hardly look real, the Exumas offer an unforgettable adventure for independent kitesurfers—as well as non-kiting partners and families.
Flights, airport transfers, alcoholic drinks, restaurant visits, travel insurance, kite equipment rental and optional lessons or private coaching.
The locations below offer just a glimpse of the many kitesurfing spots we can reach during our Exumas Kite Cruise. Many of these remote lagoons, sandbanks and uninhabited cays are inaccessible from land and can only be explored by yacht. The exact itinerary is adapted to the wind, weather and riding level of the group.
Diese beiden Inseln sind normalerweise der erste Stopp unserer Kitesurf- und Wingfoil-Cruise in den Exumas. Allein hier gibt es mindestens drei Weltklasse-Kitesurf- und Wingfoil-Spots, sowie die erste Gelegenheit für einen atemberaubenden 10-Meilen-Downwinder.
Auf diesen Inseln warten zwei spektakuläre Kite- und Wingfoil-Spots auf uns. Einer davon ist direkt vom Ankerplatz zugänglich, während der andere eine 20-minütige Upwind-Fahrt durch eine flache Lagune entfernt liegt. Die Landschaft ist einfach atemberaubend!
The Mice ist ein Labyrinth aus kleinen Inseln, Lagunen, Kanälen und Sandbänken. Die Navigation ist hier anspruchsvoll – normalerweise ist jeder an Deck, um zu helfen, die Yacht sicher durch diese faszinierende Landschaft zu steuern. Die Belohnung? Hunderte von unberührten Kite- und Wingfoil-Spots – wahrscheinlich sind wir die einzigen Menschen weit und breit.
Stanley Cay, bekannt für die berühmte Schwimmende Schweine-Bucht, ist ein absolutes Must-Visit auf unserer Exumas-Reise. Ganz in der Nähe gibt es auch einen fantastischen Kitesurf- und Wingfoil-Spot – ein weiteres Sandy Cay. Am Abend entspannen wir uns in der authentischen Sailors Bar auf Stanley Cay und genießen eine seltene Gelegenheit für etwas Zeit an Land während unserer Kitesurf- und Wingfoil-Cruise.
Kitesurfing in the Exumas combines uncrowded flat-water lagoons, shallow turquoise sandbanks and spectacular downwinders between remote islands. The trade winds are generally moderate rather than exceptionally strong, making larger kites an important part of the typical setup. Depending on body weight and conditions, many riders use approximately 10–14 m kites.
To make the most of the different spots and downwinders, participants should be confident independent riders who can maintain their position and ride upwind safely. As a guideline, we recommend at least VDWS Level 5 or an equivalent ability.
The yachts on our kitesurf cruise are not just regular charter boats—they are tailored to the needs of kitesurfers. Every cabin comes with a private bathroom and shower for maximum comfort. In addition, there are plenty of chill-out spaces on board, offering room to relax between sessions.
Solar energy powers the yachts, and fresh drinking water is made on board to reduce plastic use. Everything on board is designed to support a comfortable and well-organised kitesurfing adventure.
There is no better way to experience the Exumas than by living and kitesurfing aboard a yacht. Shortly after leaving Nassau behind, the pace slows down and the outside world begins to feel very far away.
A typical day starts with a swim in crystal-clear water of around 26°C while the crew prepares breakfast. We then check the wind and conditions before heading out for the first kite session of the day—often in a remote lagoon, beside an empty sandbank or at a spot that can only be reached by boat.
Around midday, we return to the yacht for a meal and set sail towards the next anchorage. The journey itself is part of the experience, taking us through shallow turquoise waters and between uninhabited cays. Depending on the day, there may also be time to visit the famous swimming pigs, explore a deserted beach or take a short island hike.
If the wind allows, we finish the afternoon with another session or a downwinder to the next anchorage. As the sun sets, everyone gathers on deck for a sundowner, followed by a relaxed dinner beneath the open Caribbean sky.

Direktflüge aus Europa sind selten, daher kommen die meisten Gäste über Miami mit einer kurzen Verbindung nach Nassau. Vom Flughafen aus ist es am besten, ein Taxi zum Treffpunkt zu nehmen – etwa 40 Minuten entfernt.
Du triffst unsere Crew im Nordosten der Insel, wo das Boot in der Fort Montague Bay vor Anker liegt. Das Boarding findet am nahegelegenen Strand statt, in der Nähe von Fort Montague und der Maxxis Bar.
Der Check-in auf der Yacht beginnt um 18:00 Uhr, wo wir dich an Bord mit einem Drink begrüßen und alles für die bevorstehenden Tage vorbereiten.

Am nächsten Morgen setzen wir die Segel in Richtung Exumas und steuern Little Normans Cay an. Nach einer 6–7-stündigen Überfahrt kommen wir rechtzeitig für unsere erste Kitesurf-Session am Nachmittag an.
Kurz: Pack weniger ein, als du für einen typischen Strandurlaub mitnehmen würdest. Für deine Kitesurf-Cruise benötigst du guten Sonnenschutz, einen Hut und idealerweise ein Lycra-Shirt, um dich während langer Sessions in der Sonne zu schützen.
Ein paar Boardshorts oder Bikinis, T-Shirts und Flip-Flops sind mehr als genug. Abends kann es windig werden, daher ist eine Windjacke oder ein Pullover eine kluge Ergänzung.
Wenn möglich, bringe naturfreundliches Shampoo und Seife mit, da alles im Ozean landet. Eine wiederbefüllbare Wasserflasche ist ebenfalls eine gute Idee. Packe schließlich in weiche, faltbare Taschen für eine einfachere Aufbewahrung.Und vergiss nicht deinen Reisepass.
